At the beginning of the month, we make a list before going to the market.
Rice.
Lentils.
Oil.
Vegetables.
Eggs.
The things we need every day.
But sometimes, after looking at the total, we have to look at the list again.
“What can we leave out?”
Maybe we buy less oil.
Maybe we skip the fish.
Maybe we decide to buy something next week instead.
These may seem like small decisions.
But for a family living on a limited income, these small decisions can become a daily struggle.
Not Everyone Faces Rising Costs the Same Way
When expenses increase, some people can cut back on things they want.
They can eat out less.
Walk instead of taking a ride.
Delay buying new clothes.
Reduce unnecessary expenses.
But there are people around us who already have very little left to cut.
And among them are children growing up on the streets.
For a child living on the street, there may be no monthly budget, no savings, and no certainty about tomorrow.
Sometimes, there is only one question:
“Will I get something to eat today?”
What We Consider Small Can Be Someone Else’s Necessity
We may decide not to buy something because it has become too expensive.
But for a child who has nothing, that same food may be the difference between eating and going hungry.
That is why rising costs are not only about prices in the market.
They are also about people’s lives.
Families are trying to manage their daily expenses.
Parents are making difficult choices.
And many children are facing those difficulties without the safety and support of a family.
So, What Can We Do?
We cannot solve every problem alone.
But we can make one person’s difficult day a little easier.
We can share a meal with a child.
We can help a family with something they genuinely need.
We can check on someone who is struggling.
Sometimes, even asking—
“Do you need anything?”
—can mean more than we realize.
Helping someone does not always require a lot.
Sometimes, it simply requires us to notice.
To understand.
And when we can, to stand beside them.
A Better Tomorrow Begins With Care
At Pathsu Charity Foundation, we believe that helping a child today is also about giving that child a chance for a better tomorrow.
We do not want to only address a child’s hunger for today.
We want to help create a tomorrow where that child has the opportunity to live with dignity, safety, education, and hope.
Because when times become difficult, the people with the least should not be the ones we forget.
Pathsu Charity Foundation
We stand to protect street children and build a better life for humanity.
